Boston police say three more suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings. Two college friends of alleged Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev are charged with throwing out Tsarnaev's laptop and a backpack filled with hollowed-out fireworks. The third is charged with lying to officials about it.

3:44p ET UPDATE: New details from the affidavit filed against the 3 suspects: On April 18, 2013, Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov removed Tsarnaev's backpack from Tsarnaev's dormitory room. Kadyrbayev and Tazhaykov have admitted that they agreed to get rid of it after concluding from news reports that Tsarnaev was one of the Boston Marathon bombers.

2:15p ET UPDATE: The third suspect has now been identified as Robel Phillipos, an American citizen.


2:05p ET UPDATE: Megyn Kelly reports that according to Reuters, the suspects decided to throw away Tsarnaev’s backpack after learning he was the suspect in the Boston bombing.


2:00p ET UPDATE: The suspects are expected to plead not guilty.


1:37p ET UPDATE: Herridge also reports that the two suspects had a car with a vanity license plate that read, “Terrorista #1.”


1:35p ET UPDATE: Catherine Herridge reports the two suspects from Kazakhstan were originally taken into custody on a violation of their student visas simply so authorities could hold them so that they could be questioned about whether they took any action after the FBI posted photos of Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev.  Authorities tell Fox News that the men will be charged with obstruction of justice. The source also says that at least one of the men was asked by Dzhokhar to dispose of a package.


1:31p ET UPDATE: David Lee Miller reported from outside the court house that two of the suspects have been identified as Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev. Officials say the third suspect, the American, was arrested for doing “bad things” to hinder the investigation. The two named suspects are pictured in the photo below with Dzhohkar Tsarnaev.


1:18p ET UPDATE: Of the three suspects in custody, one is said to be an American citizen. An attorney representing one of the suspects is said to be holding a press conference soon. Also, two of the suspects may be making their initial appearance before a judge this afternoon.


12:15p ET, UPDATE: Sources tell Fox News that two of those arrested are from Kazakhstan and face obstruction-related charges. There were also issues with their student visas. Authorities suspect the men tried to dispose of something at the request of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev after he and his brother, Tamerlan, went on the run. No information at this time on the third suspect.


11:36a ET, UPDATE: One source familiar with the arrests tells Fox News that the charges against these suspects have to do with assistance or cover they may have given to the Tsarnaev brothers.
