U.S. pastor Saeed Abedini was arrested in Iran and has spent months locked up in a notoriously dangerous prison on charges of trying to spread Christianity throughout the country.

Jordan Sekulow of the American Center for Law and Justice, announced on America’s Newsroom that there will be a Congressional hearing on Abedini’s case this Friday.

Sekulow stressed the need for the U.S. government’s help in the situation, saying, “His life is in jeopardy. His suffering right now from internal bleeding. He’s not getting the medical care he needs. We’re working toward efforts to secure that.”

“At a minimum, we expect for an American citizen as Saeed is, the government to come and make it clear to Iran that this is important. But this administration has ignored calls from Congress […] to do more,” he said.
