American Pastor Saeed Abedini has been jailed in an Iranian prison for months because of his Christian faith. Fox News radio host Todd Starnes spoke with the pastor’s wife, Naghmeh Abedini, who says she hasn’t heard from President Obama.

Naghmeh is adjusting to life as a single parent of their two young children. “They still ask me to sing the songs he used to sing to them, and for them it’s comforting, but for me

it’s heartbreaking.”

She spoke of her husband’s deteriorating health and the torture he’s enduring. “I would expect our government to take every action to want him released now,” Abedini said.

Meanwhile, Starnes recalled that in 2009 when three American hikers were captured by Iranians, both President Obama and the Secretary of State called for their immediate release. Neither the State Department nor the White House responded to calls from Fox News. State Department spokeswoman, Victoria Nuland, was asked about Abedini on Thursday. She responded, “We continue to believe he should be released immediately.”

The American Center for Law and Justice has taken up the fight for Abedini’s release. Jordan Sekulow of the ACLJ said, "The president’s done nothing. The president hasn’t said the word 'Saeed.' […] He has not called for his release."
