A dog trapped on the frozen Lake Michigan was rescued by a kayaker. The dog was spotted jumping on chunks of ice for more than hour. The Coast Guard attempted to nudge the dog back to shore and he eventually tried to swim.

That's when kayaker Dave Kehnast came to the rescue. He told reporters, “I got really close to him and he wanted to

bite me, so I kind of just stayed on him and by that point I could get into the water and I just sort of hustled him along.”

Once on land, the frightened canine took off but was caught and taken to a local veterinarian for treatment.
