Forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden provided some expert insight into the Oscar Pistorius murder case. Pistorius is charged with premeditated murder in last week’s shooting death of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.

Pistorius claims that he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder when he shot through his bathroom door four times. Prosecutors allege that the two were arguing before Pistorius murdered her.

Baden said that the trajectory of the bullets through the bathroom door will prove key evidence in the case. “The height of those bullet holes may be important because Pistorius says that he had not had his leg pieces on when he crawled over to the bathroom and shot through the door thinking it was a burglar,” Baden said.

Autopsy will reveal quite a bit about trajectory of the bullets, and whether Steenkamp had any bruising that would indicate prior abuse.

Megyn Kelly pointed out some apparent inconsistencies in the case and asked why if Steenkamp simply woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, she was wearing street clothes and locked the bathroom door.
