Last week, for first time in history Senate Republicans blocked the nominee for Defense Secretary, Chuck Hagel. They’re demanding more information about Hagel and the Benghazi terror attack. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) joined Fox News Sunday to talk about the unprecedented move.

Senate Democrats say Republicans are playing politics with national security. President Obama reacted to the move, saying, “It’s just unfortunate that this kind of politics intrudes at a time when I’m still presiding over a war in Afghanistan

and I need a Secretary of Defense who is coordinating with our allies to make sure that our troops are getting the kind of strategy and mission that they deserve.”

Graham called Hagel one of the most “unqualified, radical” choices for Defense Secretary. He told Wallace, “We’re talking about a person [Hagel] whose voting record shows softness on Iran and antagonism toward Israel beyond belief.”

The senator said the White House rejected Republicans’ offer to hold the vote until after the break in order to see if any new information came out. “They wanted to force this issue, so I’m glad that we have got more time to look and I’m glad he answered my question about a very disturbing comment he made.”
