Rev. Jesse Jackson Calls for an Urban Policy Intervention to Curb Gun Violence in Chicago
There are new calls for President Obama to intervene in Chicago where a teen who performed at the 2013 inauguration was fatally shot. Reverend Jesse Jackson held a march yesterday in honor of 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton. She was gunned down by gang members who fired into crowd as she talked in a park with friends.
Jackson spoke to Eric Shawn on America’s News HQ about gun violence. He said there needs to be an urban policy intervention. “We’re looking at a real crisis of the pains of poverty. […] You can’t police poverty.”
