Obama: If Congress Drags Feet on Immigration Reform, I’ll Insist They Vote on a Bill Based on My Proposals
In remarks on immigration reform moments ago, President Obama addressed the bipartisan framework that was announced yesterday.
Obama called the framework “encouraging,” but stressed that “action must follow.”
“We need Congress to act on a comprehensive approach that finally deals with the 11 million undocumented immigrants who are in the country right now,” he said.
“If Congress is unable to move forward in a timely fashion, I will send a bill based on my proposal and insist that they vote on it right away.”
