As Secretary of State nominee Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) made his opening statement at his Senate confirmation hearing, a female protester began shouting from the back of the chamber.

"I'm tired of my friends in the Middle East dying, and I don't know if they're going to be alive the next day...," she shouted before being taken out of the room by police officers.

It is unclear if the woman is affiliated with any group. Capitol Hill proceedings are often interrupted by anti-war or other protesters.
