U.S. Officials Identify Three Americans Killed in Algeria
We’re learning more about the Americans taken hostage at an Algerian gas complex.
One Colorado man survived after hiding under his desk for two and a half days. He could hear the militants pacing back and forth and searching the building for him as he hid, and apparently survived on only a pint of water. He and a few colleagues escaped the complex on Friday morning.
Others were not as lucky. Thirty-eight hostages didn’t survive, including three Americans. Victor Lovelady, Gordon Rowan, and Fred Buttaccio were killed during the attack.
Victor Lovelady’s family is speaking out, saying he had been working at the plant for only 10 days before militants stormed the facility.
