READ: White House Releases Statement on Case of Saeed Abedini, American Pastor Jailed in Iran
The White House released a statement this morning on the case of Rev. Saeed Abedini, an American pastor who has been imprisoned in Iran since late September. The exact charges against him have not been made public.
“We remain troubled by the case of U.S. citizen Saeed Abedini, who was
arrested by Iranian officials more than three months ago on charges relating to his religious beliefs. We call upon Iranian authorities to release him immediately,” said NSC Spokesman Tommy Vietor in the statement.
