Earlier, President Obama nominated John Brennan to the position of director of the Central Intelligence Agency. He said that leading the agency would be “the greatest privilege, as well as the greatest responsibility of my professional life.”

“The women and men of the CIA are among the most dedicated, courageous, selfless and hardworking individuals who have ever served this country. At great personal risk and sacrifice, they have made countless invaluable contributions to our national security and to the safety and security of all Americans,” he said.
