Al Gore sold his TV network Current TV to Al-Jazeera for a reported $500 million. While Fox News Contributor Tucker Carlson calls the acquisition a “perfect fit” because both channels “blame America first for everything,” he believes the most shocking part of the story is the timing of the sale.

Carlson said that according to reporting by the New York Times, Gore “pushed to have this deal done before December 31 so he wouldn’t be taxed as much on the proceeds from it.”

“The idea that someone like Gore who has pushed for higher taxes, who has lectured the rest of us about doing our share, paying our fair share […] trying to avoid a higher tax bill by settling it last year rather than this one, is pretty unbelievable,” Carlson said.
