At least two people were killed and dozens more injured in a massive pileup involving at least 140 vehicles. Dense fog played a major role in the horrific Thanksgiving Day accident in southeast Texas.

Dominic Di-Natale reports that the catastrophe happened Thursday at 8:45am on Interstate 10.

Police described it as a chain reaction event. Deputy Rod Carroll said at the time, “The cause of the accident was a heavy fog bank rolled into this area this morning … which caused no one to be able to see and of course one accident triggered another accident, triggered another and a chain reaction.”

A man and a woman were killed in a Chevy Suburban SUV that was crushed by a tractor-trailer. The dead have been identified as Vincent Leggio, 64, and Debra Leggio, 60.
