Polls just closed in the swing state of Ohio, and the race remains too close to call.

In the last century, only twice has anyone won the presidency without winning this heartland state.

It is also too soon to say who will win another important state where polls just closed -- North Carolina. Remember that Obama carried the Tar Heel state in 2008 and Democrats held their convention there in September. We will have to wait for more votes to be counted before we can project a winner in North Carolina.
