Last night, Geraldo Rivera was LIVE on the ground in Staten Island, New York, where large areas were totally destroyed by Hurricane Sandy's powerful storm surge and extreme winds.

As temperatures drop near freezing at night, residents are clamoring for basic supplies.

A teenage girl and her mother spoke to Geraldo at an emergency supply station. The girl said their house was hit hard by the storm and they are struggling to find food and clean clothes.

Geraldo then spoke to a young girl and her seven-year-old brother. They described in harrowing detail the last moments before a giant wave of water swept through their neighborhood.

"When I saw tears go down my dad's eyes, that's when I knew that there was something really wrong," the girl said.
