Lifeguards Fired for 'Gangnam Style' Parody Video
A parody video has gotten a few lifeguards in hot water. The California lifeguards were doing their own version of a Korean viral sensation, ‘Gangnam Style.’ The city of El Monte fired the lifeguards, citing the unauthorized use of the pool facilities and uniforms.
Former pool manager, Gabriel Gonzalez, was visibly upset when talking about the situation. He said he didn’t think overseeing the making of the video was a bad thing, but says because of that misjudgment he too has lost his job. Out of the 14 fired, all are in college except for one person.
Michael Roa said this was his only source of income as far as paying for books and contributing to his education.
