Actress Jessica Alba is taking on a new role in pushing to get more chemical-free products on the market. Alba recently lobbied Congress for the Safe Chemicals Act, legislation that would prevent companies from producing toxic products.

Friday on Fox and Friends, Alba said, “The chemical industry, as it stands now, doesn’t really need to test chemicals for their safety before they put them in personal care products. There are lots of potentially very harmful things that could happen like autism, obesity, all sorts of cancers.”

Becoming a mom to two little girls inspired Alba to start the Honest Company, which is dedicated to producing chemical-free household and baby products at affordable prices.
