Fox News contributor and political analyst Larry Sabato broke down the figures in new polls just out, showing a statistical dead heat between President Obama and GOP contender Mitt Romney in the states of Ohio and Florida. Sabato said the results match presidential election history.

In Pennsylvania, however, a gender gap is proving to be a talking point as it suggests that Romney isn't polling well with the women. Sabato says this distinction is fairly normal and could be seen in numerous states throughout the country on any given day.

"I would bet that

[in a vote taken] on this day, Mitt Romney would carry men and Obama would carry women," Sabato said. "You'd much rather be doing well with women ... but it matters whether or not you carry them by two or three points, or if you carry them by 10 or 12." And it's these numbers that remain to be seen.
