Yesterday, the president pledged to the American people that he was recommitting to his focus on jobs now that the debt deal passed. Critics are now pointing out that this isn’t the first time we’ve heard the president make a promise about jobs.

Monica Crowley joined America Live to say that we see evidence every day of the Obama economy and that when President Obama came into office, unemployment was at 7.8%. It’s now at 9.2%.

Crowley attributes the high unemployment rate to a number of factors, including Obamacare. She said it’s added massive new costs, new taxes, and created uncertainty for businesses. Crowley said, “Why would you want to hire someone today if you don’t know what it is going to cost you tomorrow to have them on your payroll?”

Tell us what you think? Will the president's promise to focus on jobs impact the unemployment rate?
